Life throws you at times into places. Places you have never been before, but somehow they seem familiar, maybe even like home. They seem like you have been there before, many times before. Their smell, the colour of the lights, the floor, all seem to resemble something that had previously left an imprint within you. You remember and you feel.
And you ask yourself how this is possible?
There is a feeling of warmth, of cosiness, like in a womb. You feel even a sad grieve and loss when you leave the place again to be thrown out again onto the bussy streets.
Maybe these days the place gets a star in GoogleMaps and whenever you even see the star popping up on the map, you start smiling and feeling a bit of the warmth.
We are desperately looking for this connection, for the safety and security just to be. To feel and to be felt. To hold and to be held. Just to sit for a while and take a bath in what is offered. It might be nature, it might be the smiles of people, it might simply be the old, warn-out wodden floor in a caffee together with some big, green leaves and the smell of freshly roasted coffee.
The invitation is to slow down and realize the offering, realize the relaxation of the tight muscels and the sigh that escapes our stressed bodies. Gentleness resumes into our eyes and a sudden smile is magically escaping our expression. Thank you life for this beautiful offering. Nearly had I missed the place, the energy and the warm connection. Nearly had I passed by, running, hasteling, busy with my ego, my to-do list and my other super important pieces of the day. Nearly had I missed a moment to move from existence to life, from being a passenger to allowing myself to slow down and embrace the moment.
As I write those lines I am sitting in Jaffa, in the old town of Tel Aviv in a coffee shop. I am smiling and grateful not to have missed this one like for sure many others every day.
Let me just offer this little text to the busy posting-world of ever greater achievements and see what happens.
Right now, you are still reading the post realizing that there might be something in for you, something has caught your curiosity. What is it? What's in for you?
